    Caribbean female standing facing, head right, with hand on hip and holding plate of fruits on head; palm trees to right; map of the Caribbean Sea in background / COMPAGNIE GENERALE TRANSATLANTIQVE / "COLOMBIE," the vessel left; 'French Line' and 'Linea Francesa' above in script. Edge: «cornucopia» BRONZE.

     

    Choice Mint State. As issued, pleasing yellow-bronze surfaces, with exceptionally deep relief; includes original round box of issue.

     

    Part of a series of medals struck to commemorate and advertise the various destinations serviced by the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique (CGT), this medal presents gorgeous artistry and serves---along with the others in the series---as an analog to posters printed for the same advertising purpose (see image, poster not included).
