The Kennedy World in Medallic Art, p. 85, K-63A-77. Gem Mint State. Exceedingly brilliant and prooflike, with intense iridescence—particularly of a cobalt nature—throughout.
Following Kennedy's assassination in November 1963, the Karlsruhe mint in Germany issued medals that rather gruesomely capture the event itself on their obverses, while their reverses came in two varieties—text such as the present example, and another assassination scene, this time of Jack Ruby.
