100043 | UNITED STATES. Satirical cast iron "Bryan Money," with aluminum wash. Dated 1896 (84mm, 122.42 g, 12h).

Illustrating the true size of a Morgan dollar were bimetallism to be favored over the gold standard, as made famous by democrat William Jennings Bryan's "Cross of Gold" speech leading up to his unsuccessful presidential campaign in 1896 against republican William McKinley.

Cf. Schornstein 805 (rough attempt at edge reeding); Zerbe 84. EF, virtually as made. Rare and historically interesting.
