Born to a large Jewish family in Keszthely in the Kingdom of Hungary, Karl Goldmark (1830-1915) was famous for his critically acclaimed chamber music along with operas including Die Kƶnigin von Saba (The Queen of Sheba), LƤndliche Hochzeit (Rustic Wedding Symphony), and Violin Concerto No. 1.
