    100279 | HUNGARY. Franz Liszt bronze Plaque. Dated 1911. Commemorating the 100th Birthday of the Pianist and Composer (53x60mm, 93.98 g, 12h). By R. Neuberger in Vienna.


    Bust facing, head turned slightly left / FRANZ LISZT / 22 OKTOBER / 1811–1911 in three lines. Edge: Plain.


    Niggl 1154. Mint State. Olive green-bronze surfaces, with a slightly two-toned nature on the reverse.


    Born in the village of Doborján in the Kingdom of Hungary, Franz Liszt (1811-1886) was an extremely prolific composer and virtuoso, and both a friend to and promoter of many of his musical contemporaries. Some of his progressive ideas within the field include the symphonic poem, thematic transformation, and extreme departures in the area of harmony.
