Two men left, plowing field with yoke of oxen / Man left, harvesting field of grain with scythe. Edge: «hallmark» BRONZE.

 

Cf. Stack's Bowers 182, lot 2069. Mint State. Charming two-tone yellow-bronze matte surfaces; a hint of light rub on the high points. Scarce and highly attractive.

 

The pastoral scenes represented here, though from a rustic French standpoint, can easily be seen in turn-of-the-century America as well.
