    100331 | FRANCE. Bronze Medal. Instituted 13 July 1917. Issued to Civilians for Gratitude during World War I; class III (30mm, 20.28 g, 12h). By J. Desbois in Paris.

     

    Marianne left, cradling wounded soldier / RECONAISSANCE / FRANÇAISE; palm frond to right. Edge: «hallmark» BRONZE. Suspension: Small loop atop wreath with loop. Ribbon: Large central white vertical band, with small red, white, and blue bands to left and right.

     

    Barac 386. Choice Mint State. Attractive light brown surfaces, with a matte quality and charming two-tone appearance.
