America seated left, resting elbow upon federal shield and crowning instruments of science, commerce, and industry; around, four oval medallions representing the four quarters of the globe / INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION / PHILADELPHIA, MDCCCLXXVI, AWARDED BY / UNITED STATES / CENTENNIAL / COMMISSION in four lines within wreath. Edge: Plain, though a few light marks.
