The theme of l'effort was utilized by various Belgian artists during the late 19th and 20th centuries for medals to be awarded to deserving individuals by a number of institutions or organizations. One such design was that of Josuë Dupon, featuring an elegantly balanced composition of a nude male applying as much leverage as he possibly can to rocky formation; an excellent marriage of power and finesse.
