    LUDWIG D ÆLT MARKGR ZU BRANDENB U LAUS D H R R OBERST KÆMMERER 1324–1361, draped and armored bust facing slightly right, head facing slightly left / KR LUDWIG BELEHNT SEINEN SOHN HERZ LUDWIG V BAYERN MIT DER M BRANDENB, awarding scene: Holy Roman Emperor Ludwig IV seated left on gothic throne, receiving his son Ludwig V von Bayern and presenting him with the margraviate of Brandenburg; five soldiers standing around them. Edge: Plain.

     

    Marienburg 4207. Choice Mint State. Brilliantly lustrous and prooflike, with some hints of russet and cobalt tone around the devices; a few light hairlines are noted merely for completeness. Extremely rare striking in silver, with the Marienburg specimen being the only other example which this calaloger could locate in this metal.
