    MOLD BY CHICAGO MOLDED PRODUCTS CORPORATION, veiled female bust left / I SAW THIS MOLDED IN CARVER LABORATORY PRESS DURING THIS PLASTIC EXPOSITION, AMERICA'S / MODERN / PLASTICS / EXPOSITION / 1941 in five lines; outline of branch below. Edge: Light planchet break as made, otherwise plain.

     

    Choice Mint State. Glossy brick red surfaces, with high relief on the obverse.

     

    Though not serving as money in and of itself, it is interesting that this piece, taking the shape and characteristics of coinage and showing off the usage of plastics, would foreshadow the type of "plastic" that is now very much used as money in the form of credit cards.
