    An icon in the American civil rights movement and known for his nonviolent forms of protest, the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. was the recipient of the 1964 Nobel Peace Prize at the age of just 35, becoming the youngest person to ever receive the reward. Just four years later, he would be assassinated at a Memphis motel while on his way to an event.
