    GRAF FERD V ZEPPELIN, bust facing slightly right / UNSER ZEPPELIN IN TÄTIGKEIT IM FELDZUG 1914, airship flying right, bombing various fortifications below. Edge: 950 SILBER.

     

    Zetzmann 4010 var. (plain edge); Hans Kaiser Coll. 406.1; Bernd Kaiser IV 16a; Bernd Kaiser V 716a. Mint State. Extremely lustrous and prooflike, with a pleasing frosting to the devices; a fair number of hairlines in the fields are noted.

     

    Zeppelin was a German general and aircraft manufacturer, who later founded the airship company Luftschiffbau Zeppelin. During World War I, many of his airships were utilized in scouting missions and bombing campaigns, most notably in Britain where their bombings killed over 500 citizens.
