R. / COLUMBUS, SEP. 1888, state coat-of-arms, with factory worker and farmer as supporters / FRATERNITY CHARITY LOYALTY / 1861 • VETERAN • 1866, Liberty standing facing, holding hands with two servicemen; kneeling woman with child before them; standard and eagle to left, standard and fasces to right. Edge: 617 in ink on edge, otherwise plain. HK –.

 

Mint State. Exceedingly brilliant and prooflike, with great quality given the metal; a minor spot of roughness is noted in the right obverse field. Planchet slightly wavy. Very rare, especially so attractive.
