Central globe, garnished and with scroll above inscribed 1841–91; around, four garnished oval medallions containing EUROPE, seated facing with open book, lyre, and lamp; AMERICA, seated left, with head right and with buffalo; AFRICA, seated left, with head right and with lion; and ASIA, seated right, with fan and panther; in corners, clipper ship, locomotive, stagecoach, and pack camel / Blank. Edge: Plain.

 

BHM –; Eimer –. Choice Mint State. Rather deeply toned, with some mirroring to the devices and a good deal of charming iridescence. Very rare, unusual, and rather uncertain.
