Battle scene, with soldiers advancing right; above, Valkyrie, holding scythe, riding leaping horse right; all within decorative border / ZUR – ERG. / AN – DEN / WELTKRIEG / 1914, Iron Cross hanging from laurel and oak branch; all within decorative border. Edge: A few light marks, otherwise plain.

This interesting and evocative design prominently features a figure wielding a scythe—typically held by a morbid representation of Death, but here instead held by a Valkyrie—adapted from Norse mythology by the Germans as a rallying cry for her soldiers.
