    Forrer IV, 172. Mint State. Darkened violet-brown surfaces, with some scattered scuffs and marks in the fields, though a good deal of lustrous brilliance remains.

     

    Still utilized to this day, the Amphitheater at Verona was completed in A.D. 30 during the latter part of the reign of Tiberius, and had a capacity in antiquity of nearly 30,000. This medal commemorates the restorations that took place at the ancient site in 1825.
