    Olsén p. 335; Hy. II, p. 47. Choice Mint State. Highly brilliant and prooflike, with some subtle golden-olive toning; some scattered hairlines are noted for completeness.

     

    Known as the "van Dyck of Sweden," von Breda would spend a good portion of his early career in Britain, where he learned his craft. Eventually, his return to Sweden saw him serving as a rather renowned portrait painter in the Swedish court.
