The "long and faithful service" medal is awarded by the Swedish government to longstanding employees and contributors in countless fields. In this instance, Rosa Johansson received a smaller (35mm) award and a larger (44mm) award some five years later. It is difficult to determine exactly who this recipient was, but the records for the Royal Patriotic Society indicate that a Rosa Johansson—a nurse in Kalmar—was nominated on 27 November 1940 on account of her 25 years of service at that time. It may very well be this same Rosa who received such long service awards in 1948 and 1953.
