Personification of Journalism standing slightly left, holding up torch, casting light upon news from around the country; in background to right, telegraph lines transmitting the news even further, with wires emanating from the newspaper itself / OFFERT PAR LE PETIT PARISIEN, Mercury advancing right, cradling caduceus and leading with torch; outline of Europe in the background. Edge: BRONZE «hallmark».
Maier – (though see pp. 304-305 for this medalist). Gem Mint State. Brown-bronze surfaces, with a sublime matte nature.
This Art Nouveau design was offered by Le Petit Parisien, one of the leading newspapers in France from 1876 to 1944.
