Instituted in 1803, the award for "zeal and devoted service" is awarded to one who has served as an employee of the Swedish nation for 30 years, showing exemplary work and effort in the process. This particular award was bestowed in 1919 to Jöns S-son Holmberg, who held the role of first postman. Based upon an announcement in the Royal Post Circular (Kungl. Generalpoststyrelsens Cirkulär), we know that Holmberg retired from his post on 13 June 1924.
