VIZEADMIRAL GRAF VON SPEE, uniformed bust facing slightly right // SEESCHLACHT BEI SANTA MARIA AM 1 NOVEMBER 1914, naval battle, with one ship sinking another in foreground; third ship in background. Edge: SILBER 990. Zetzmann 4047; Klose –; Art of Devastation –. PCGS SP-64. Exceptionally prooflike and dazzling, with frosting upon the devices and subtle color nearer the peripheries. Tied with just four others for the top spot in the PCGS census. Though without the colorful toning, finer by a single point than a similar PCGS SP-63 that we sold a few years back.
